There are three simple steps to becoming a customer/associate of the Power of 31. 1) Click on the "Buy Now" link and purchase your Luxury Wax Melt. 2) Review the Power of 31 video on our Thank You page and click on the "Register Now" button to enter your Sponsor's ID number and 3) complete the Member Registration form from your Sponsor's website. Please be sure to read the instructions very carefully. That's it! By following these three simple steps, you’re on your way to receiving customer reward points for free products and cash!
Once your account is activated, please be sure to log into your customer/associate back office every day (IMA Login) to keep up with what is going on with the Power of 31. Along with some very important Member Only Updates, you will also find your personal referral link to give to your 3 personally sponsored customers, in your members back office.
There are a total of 6 matrices in the Power of 31. The first matrix is a 3x3 follow me matrix and can be filled by spillover from your upline and by your own direct referrals. The second through the fifth matrix are 2x4 follow me matrices, where everyone will follow their sponsor. Whenever a member cycles their 3x3 matrix, they are added to the Stage 1 2x4 matrix, following their sponsor. They will continue through all 4 Stages and when they complete Stage 4, they will be automatically re-entered back into Stage 1, to start all over again. As an Independent Marketing Associate (IMA), you must have 3 personally sponsored customers before you are eligible to earn customer reward points for free products and cash! Once you become eligible, there is no limit to the amount you can earn. Please see the "Opportunity" page for all reward details.
The minimum balance you must earn before you start receiving a payment is $31. This is the very cash reward received when you cycle the Starter Matrix with 39 points.
Once you have personally referred 3 customers, you will be eligible to start earning reward points. Once you and your team complete your 3x3 Starter matrix, you will earn your first commission.
The Gratitude Candle Company (GCC) is the parent company and is the manufacturer of our candle products and other goods and services. Sharing Gratitude is the charity division of GCC and customers and associates help us give back a portion of our proceeds to give children in hospitals a Prayer Blankies to comfort them in their time of need and this is done through the sale of our products. When you become a customer/associate, you are becoming a customer/associate of The Power of 31 the marketing arm of the Gratitude Candle Company, to market and earn from the sale of the GCC products and services.
The sole function of the Power of 31 is to help you to expand your Sharing Gratitude business and earnings. All members begin as a customer of GCC by purchasing the Luxury Wax Melt. As a customer, they are placed into the Starter Matrix of the Power of 31. If they choose not to become an Independent Marketing Associate (IMA), they will just continue to cycle through the various matrices, but will not earn customer rewards and cash.
Anyone over the age of 18 can join the Power of 31. The Power of 31 is an International Company.
When you share our products with others you are automatically entered into Power of 31 for free when your customers refer at least three customers they then advance from customer to associate. Remember there is no cost to join the power of 31 when someone purchases a product they become a customer to help associates earn free products and cash… customers help our associates earn free products and rewards just like American Express , Flyer Miles, Ect. They will follow you all the way through the Power of 31 Compensation plan and into the other income streams, except QLxchange/OneX which is the only Team Build we will do.

All products, including International shipments are usually shipped within 5 to 10 days of verifying the order. All shipments must be verified by the U.S. Postal Service as a valid shipping address if your shipping address is incorrect or is returned to us it can be reshipped at your expense for $5 shipping and handling once address is verified and valid.
A: This is a long complicated story and not without ongoing legal dispute. Unlike mail order firms which are immune from sales and use tax, direct selling companies are viewed by state officials as having "nexus" (sufficient contacts in a state for sales tax purposes). Their reasoning is based on the fact that Associates of direct selling companies actually promote the product and opportunity, and conduct opportunity meetings and training meetings in the states in which they live. Consequently, their sales are not considered to be in the same category as mail order sales. Distributors must obtain resale tax licenses and take care of the taxes for the product they sell or by wholesale.
A: From a legal standpoint, you are an independent contractor because the company does not tell you when, where, and how to perform your tasks. If it did, you would be an employee. Adopting guidelines on ethical issues, consumer legal safeguards, and general rules for fair competition among Distributors does not negate independent contractor status. Independent contractor status generally means that individuals are liable for their own income taxes, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation, etc. In 1982, the federal government specially recognized independent contractor status of direct sellers, and many states have followed suit with specific legislation.
A: No. Commissions are only paid on products or services that are available to be sold or used by consumers. Sales aids do not fall in that category because they are merely tools for Distributors. Payment of commissions on sales aids would be criticized as a payment of "head hunting fees" for the mere act of finding other Distributors, as opposed to sales to users of the company’s products or services.
A: They are both important. The best part of our plan is everyone becomes customers first and if they choose to refer three customers they become active customers with their purchase of our product. A balance is the key the wonderful thing about our program is customers can become associates so it’s a win.
A: Actually, a number of states have multilevel distribution statutes that require registration. In addition, most companies will be registered to pay sales taxes throughout the country. However, most network marketing companies will only register to do business as a foreign corporation doing business in those states in which they have a physical presence such as manufacturing facilities, warehouses, offices, or employees. The corporate laws of most states provide that a company is not "doing business in the state" merely because it sells through independent Distributors in that state. The Power of 31 has a valid business license in the county in which our business is located. We pay sales tax to the State of Tennessee.
A: This is the landmark decision for the network marketing industry. In 1975 the Federal Trade Commission charged Amway with violating FTC rules. After four years of litigation, Amway prevailed when an FTC administrative law judge ruled that Amway was a legitimate direct selling company and not an illegal pyramid scheme. The basis of the decision is recognition of Amway’s (1) ten retail customer rule, (2) 70 percent rule, and (3) buy-back policy. The industry owes Amway a debt of gratitude. The industry would not likely exist if Amway had not prevailed.
A: Almost all states’ pyramid statutes prohibit the payment of an investment for the right to be involved in a multilevel type business. Many of the states specifically hold that the purchase of an "at cost" sales kit from a company is not considered to be an investment. Sales kits typically cost between $15 and $75. The term "at cost" means that the sale of the mandatory sales kit does not generate profit for the company. Profits for the company and its Distributors should come from the sale of the company’s products and services. We do not require anyone by any sales kit all we do is gather customers who love our product and will share it with others.
A: Absolutely not! This is what is referred to as "head hunting" fees and is commonly referenced as an element of pyramid schemes in court cases. Commissions should be paid only on the sale of company product or services in which our commission is paid on reward points for products sold points earned creates product rewards and cash!
A: Although government agencies in some foreign countries may issue advisory opinions, no attorney general office in the United States gives its stamp of approval to an MLM program. Inquirers are always told to review the appropriate laws. In fact, nothing will bring the wrath of an attorney general’s office more than a claim by a Distributor or a company that the program has been approved by the attorney general.
A: The full name of the company is " The Power of 31 /The Gratitude Candle Company" which began marketing our flagship product of organic, lead-free candles in boutiques in the Tennessee, Missouri, and Kentucky area in 2007. After success in marketing these candles, founder Jennifer Ballenger became inspired to expand the business to include a direct selling Distributorship component that would not only allow others to distribute the candles (thus enhancing their personal income through multiple streams of on come a service that is provided by The Power of 31 Wealth System.
A: First let me say that anyone who says we are a pyramid or money game really needs to do some homework. Let me explain:
There are some real strange websites on the Internet that claim all MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) companies are pyramid schemes. Eventually you will run into someone who says, “oh yeah, one of those pyramid schemes“. I am here to armor plate you and tell you how to handle the question!
The answer is no real MLM company is a pyramid. The definition of a “real company” is one that customers buy valid goods or services from in which we provide both product and service. I have seen the down line reports of over 100 reputable companies selling valued products and services. Looking at the levels of distributors in a print out shows that the company’s down lines look like a diamond! In fact some look like a skinny turnip!
Multilevel/Direct Sales marketing is a popular way of retailing in which consumer products are sold, not in stores by sales clerks, but by independent businessmen and women (Distributors), usually in customers' homes. As a Distributor you can set your own hours and earn money by selling consumer products supplied by an established company.
In a multilevel structure you can also build and manage your own sales force by gathering customers and then if they want to become distributors, motivating, supplying and training others to sell those products. Your compensation then includes a percentage of the sales of your entire sales group as well as earnings on your own sales to retail customers. This opportunity has made multilevel marketing an attractive way of starting a business with comparatively little money.
We also hear the charge from critics saying, “only the people at the top make any money.” As soon as they say that I know they are showing they know nothing about MLM or Direct Sales. They probably haven’t done any more than buy a distributor kit and then sat and watched TV. There are plenty of companies where people that were not in the company from the first made big money! In fact in one company where I was the top earner - I was at the bottom of the heap! I was 300 levels down in the company and only 6 generations made any money off of me. The original Distributors that had started with the company had all left. I know lots of similar cases where the top earners were not at the top of the diamond.
Where you are in your business all depends on your drive and effort.
Pyramid schemes seek to make money from you (and quickly). Multilevel marketing companies seek to make money WITH you as you build your business (and theirs) selling consumer products. Before you sign up with a company, investigate carefully. A good way to begin is to ask yourself these questions:
PIf the start-up cost is substantial, be careful! The start-up fee in multilevel companies is generally small - but can still range from $50 to $500. For the start-up fee, usually a sales kit is sold at or below company cost. These companies want to make it easy and inexpensive for you to start selling. Pyramid schemes, on the other hand, make nearly all of their profit on signing up new recruits who do not make any commission for signing others up to become Distributors. Therefore, the cost to become a Distributor is usually high. CAUTION: PYRAMIDS OFTEN DISGUISE ENTRY FEES AS PART OF THE PRICE CHARGED FOR REQUIRED PURCHASES OF TRAINING, COMPUTER SERVICES, PRODUCT INVENTORY, etc. These purchases may not even be expensive or "required," but there will be considerable pressure to "take full advantage of the opportunity." You can become a Distributor in Power of 31 Wealth System/The Gratitude Candle Company with only referring three customers. You also get a 20% discount. (This is hardly taking someone’s money and giving them nothing in return!)
IF THE ANSWER IS NO (OR NOT MANY), STAY AWAY! This is a key element. Multi-level marketing (like other methods of retailing) depends on selling to consumers and establishing a market. This requires quality products, competitively priced. Pyramid schemes, on the other hand, are not concerned with sales to end users of the product. Profits are made on volume sales to new recruits. Who buy the products, not because they are useful or attractively priced, but because they must buy them to participate.
Our consumers are customers first and only become distributors if they decide to refer three customers. Our Distributors, who do not have a quota they have to buy! They buy only what they will use for themselves or sell to make retail profit. No purchase is required with us. Inventory purchases should never be more than you can realistically expect to sell or use yourself.
In addition, we have a Preferred Customers Plan where customers buy a 64 oz candle, get a 20% discount and do not belong to the pay plan. We have many customers who do not build a team, and that is their choice.

These are only warning signs of the most obvious frauds. An independent investigation is necessary in any case. A fraudulent salesperson may be prepared with glib assurances and authentic-looking documents. Remember, if it's worth your money, it's worth your time to investigate.
