I’m the oldest of seven. I’ve been working since I was fourteen years old – not because I wanted to, but because I had to. My mom barely had money to buy my siblings and I school clothes. I remember we even had to go to a local church to eat sometimes. Now I have two kids of my own, and I was working two jobs seven days a week. My bills were paid, but I never got to spend time with my kids. One day my car broke down while I was at job # 1 and I thought it was the worst thing ever. But it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. I got a weekend! Finally, for the 1st time in 2 ½ years working seven days a week, I got to spend time with my kids. I have been in a few businesses along the way but never with the backing of something like Power of 31. So I would say that’s one of many reasons Power of 31 is so special to me. I worked my businesses after work and whenever I was not with the kids. And let’s just say the rest will be history.

Moreover, I have been a supervisor for the last 10 years and I am looking forward to retiring in 2012. And no, I’m not sixty! I’m just a single mother with a dream that wanted more out of life and found a way to make that happen. I see why 5% of the world is controlling 9% of the wealth. It all starts in our mind – if you think you can’t, then you can’t.

I am writing a testimony for any and everyone. To see that with kids and working, you can still have the things you want in life. Know that you do not have to be a victim of circumstance or your environment. Go for what you want. Don’t stop until you get it. I don’t want my children to work dead end jobs. I want them to be able to do what they would like to do, instead of what they have to do. I want them to have the choices I didn’t have. It feels so good to know I’m building a legacy. And off of what I do now, my family will be financially stable. My, “why” is my family. My will-power was strong enough – and I didn’t give up. Lastly, I will leave you with something I read by Napoleon Hill, “the ladder of success is never crowded at the top.” Power Of 31 is that ladder. See you at the top!
